Dr Andrzej Król has been a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at St. George’s Hospital, London, UK, since 2005.
His special interests include: Chronic and Acute Pain, Regional Anaesthesia and Vascular Anaesthesia. He has been actively involved in promoting and teaching interventional pain relief techniques and regional anaesthesia, with ultrasound guided approaches opening a new horizon.

Andrzej has a strong educational and research background and runs multiple courses in pain management and regional anaesthesia in different European countries. He is the Chairman of the popular international ESRA/ RA-UK Ultrasound in Pain Medicine Course in London: www.uspmlondon.com. Dr Andrzej Król has been a Faculty of EDPM (European Diploma of Pain Medicine – ESRA) and has taken a role of coordination ESRA Pain Workshops in London, Madrid, Innsbruck and Annual ESRA Scientific Congress.

Dr Andrzej Król has been co-founder of London Society of Regional Anaesthesia: www.lsora.co.uk and founder and council member of the London Pain Forum, a leading group of pain doctors in the UK: www.londonpainforum.co.uk .He is the Past-President of the Interventional Section of the Polish Association for the Study of Pain (PTBB) and a member of the Polish Neuromodulation Society: www.painandneuromodulationpoland.com.

Dr. Król has authored numerous journal articles and is a frequent presenter and lecturer at national and international congresses. His interest has focused on safety of regional anaesthesia and pain intervention, application of ultrasound and injection pressure monitoring. He has been Associate Editor of the Journal of Observational Pain Medicine (JOOPM) and reviewer for peer review journals (Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Prague Medical Journal).

He qualified (MD) from Medical School in Warsaw, Poland in 1991. Completed his anaesthetic and intensive care training in 1998. Diplomate of European Academy of Anaesthesiology (DEAA) 2000. Simultaneously he was trained in Palliative Medicine and set up Palliative, Hospice and Chronic Pain Service in the region. Regional Advisor in Palliative Medicine 2000- 2004. Following his specialist training in Poland Andrzej undertook fixed term senior registrar training in the UK and advanced Pain Fellowship at St George’s Hospital, London , becoming the Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and Faculty of Pain Medicine.
