Christ Declerck is board-certified for anesthesiology and intensive care medicine. He did his training for anesthesia at the University of Ghent and he was a cardiothoracic research fellow for one year at Columbia University, NY in the anesthesia Department of Prof. Daniel Thys at St. Luke’s Hospital. During his fellowship he published his work quantification on left ventricular contraction with ultrasound.
His training in intensive care was in the CHU Pitié-Salpetriere Paris with Prof. Jean Jacques Rouby and Brussels University with Prof.
Later in his career he went to pain practice where he got the opportunity to follow a fellowship in Pain at the MPC Bruges.
Since he already had experience with cardiothoracic and locoregional ultrasound, he is more involved in ultrasound-guided pain interventions; He is certified FIPP, CIPS and ASRA-PMUC and is active in teaching at WIP US courses.
Christ Declerck is now full-time pain consultant at the Multidisciplinary Pain Center at St-John’s General Hospital, Bruges.
The MPC Bruges is a reference center for cluster and cervicogenic headache.
His interest goes to head and neck pain interventions, ONS and peripheral neuromodulation. Along with the service or physiotherapy there is a program in PRP and stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis.
